917 SABLE ROSE CHANEL SOLEIL TAN DE CHANEL LUMINOUS BRONZING POWDER - SWATCHES AND REVIEW
CHANEL SOLEIL TAN DE CHANEL - LUMINOUS BRONZING POWDER: 917 SABLE ROSE ($60 USD)
Just like last year's Summer collection (see my post here) this year's Chanel Summer Collection has two bronzers that are available (you can read more about the entire 2012 Summer collection here). This years bronzers are luminous bronzing powders in Sable Beige and Sable Rose. The difference with these bronzers are that they come in beige and rose (last year was coral and pink), they have seven smaller stripes of varying shades and colors (last year had four huge stripes with one stripe being either pink or coral), and these tend to be on the lighter golden brown color spectrum whereas last years were more darker and leaned more brownish orange.
I have what is known as a peaches and cream complexion. Which basically means I'm very pale, I have freckles and I do not tan when I'm out in the sun. So most bronzers are to dark for my complexion even though I love to wear them. Fortunately for me, the bronzers this year are light enough that I can pull them off which is why I bought the Sable Rose bronzer.
When used correctly, the Sable Rose bronzer will add some color to your face that's very subtle and just gives a nice glow that looks like a person just came from the beach, but not like they went to a tanning salon or stayed at the beach for several hours. The multicolored narrow stripes in the Sable Rose bronzer allow for a more blended flush of bronzer than anything that I have ever used before. This bronzer is amazing and I love using my stippling brush to apply the bronzer to my face. With a soft swish of my stippling brush I can deposit just enough bronzer on my face to give it a flush of color and if I want more color than I just reapply. I like applying it in layers so that I don't overdo it.
Now I just want to say that bronzers have the ability to give skin a beautiful glow if applied sheer, or a lovely tanned look if applied darker. They can also help to sculpt parts of your face by accentuating certain features by making them more or less noticeable. For example, it can make the nose look thinner or the face more narrow depending on how and where you apply the bronzer. Also, make sure you don't use too much and use a nice color that will compliment your skin tone to get the best results.
