13 RADIANT PIGMENT GIORGIO ARMANI FLUID SHEER - SWATCHES AND REVIEW

The Giorgio Armani EFFETTO NUDO Spring 2014 collection consisted of three rouge d'armani sheer lipsticks, three flash lacquer glosses, three eyeliners, the Belladonna highlight palette, and a new Fluid Sheer in Radiant Pigment. Another item from this collection the Luminessence CC, a color control bright moisturizer sunscreen, will not be available until later this year in March.

I love the Giorgio Armani fluid sheers, I've purchased #8 (check it out here) and #9 (check it out here) and have had fantastic results and most recently I repurchased #2 and #7 (I will review both at a later time). So I was super excited when I heard the news about a new fluid sheer - #13 Radiant pigment. It is said to contain varying gold and rose kaleidoscope pearls that instantly warm up tired sallow skin. It acts as a filler and will magically smooth and freshen the skin leaving behind a luminous complexion.

This week I have been trying to incorporate the Radiant pigment into my beauty routine. I have worn it as a highlight color on my upper cheekbones, my brow bone and my cupids bow. I have tried mixing it with my foundation for an all-over glow and I have used it to contour different areas of my face. One thing I have noticed **Be sure to shake it before using to blend the formula! The formula is rather sheer and not as thick as the other fluid sheers. It doesn't have an odor or scent but in the bottle it had a slight plastic smell. When dispensed the Radiant pigment has a milky white look but blended it took on a sheer pale pink pearlescent sheen.

I found the Radiant pigment worked best when blended with other products rather than worn alone. The only exception was my brow bone and cupids bow - it gave both of those areas a subtle glowing sheen. Other areas, when worn alone, it just didn't blend in as easily. When worn over top of my foundation it left streaks and splotches. However when I wore the Radiant pigment mixed in with my foundation (it did lighten the foundation up just a bit) it seemed to melt right into my skin. It smoothed over my fine lines and left me with a dewy complexion. As a highlighter, I applied both the Radiant pigment along with my highlight powder together onto my upper cheekbones, it lent definition to my cheeks and seemed to accentuate my face with a subtle glow from within. The Radiant pigment fluid sheer has really exceeded my expectations. It took a little trial and error to see what worked best for me but it has been worth it. It is definitely a "Must Buy" and a "Holy Grail" product to add to your beauty collection.

Radiant Pigment Fluid Sheer is currently available on the Giorgio Armani beauty website. It is priced at $62.00 USD and it contains 1 fl. oz. of product.

8 FLUID SHEER GIORGIO ARMANI SPRING 2013 COLLECTION - SWATCHES and REVIEW

Fluid sheer dresses skin in an illuminating veil of radiance. This unique, translucent formula is available in a range of versatile hues including makeup base shades, correcting shades, and radiance boosting shades. Blend your favorite fluid sheer with foundation to add radiance, polish and sculpting definition to your complexion. Or use it alone as a makeup base. All skin types.
  • perfects, sculpts and illuminates skin
  • complete and versatile shade range
  • doubles as eye shadow base, blush or bronzer
  • sheer, lightweight texture and coverage
For Spring 2013 GIORGIO ARMANI brings six new FLUID SHEER shades.
The six shades: 4, 5, 6, 8, 9 and 12 will be added to the existing five which are permanent. Of the six new shades I purchased 8 and 9 from the Giorgio Armani website. When navigating the website I actually had to do a search for them. I thought they would be listed under the blush / bronzer category but they were in fact listed under the foundation category. Which makes sense seeing as how the ultimate purpose for these are to be used in conjunction with your foundation.

Previously Fluid Sheer #8 was a dark reddish bronze; almost a dark chocolate with hints of copper. It has been discontinued and now the new GIORGIO ARMANI FLUID SHEER 8 is a cool-toned shimmering medium pink. It isn't as pale as the Fluid Sheer #7 Pale Shimmering Rose and it's not as bright as the Fluid Sheer 9 - it is somewhere in the middle. When blended out it is quite similar to MAC Mineralize Blush duo MoonRiver. It gives the same shimmering effect with a slight pinkish sheen and there is a hint, almost subtle, of lavender undertones but it is barely noticeable. I didn't notice any chunks or flecks of micro-glitter with this formula either.

When I tried wearing the fluid sheer alone it gave my skin a beautiful healthy glow. It really perked up my tired looking skin and it didn't seem to enhance any wrinkles or fine lines. For those with oily skin you might need to apply a slight dusting of translucent powder but overall it didn't seem greasy nor did it oxidize into an oily mess.

Next I mixed the Fluid Sheer 8 with several different foundations. When trying to use a cream foundation it created a greasy mess. The two just didn't blend together very well and the end result was a greasy looking face. I tried a powder foundation and it was okay but there was a fair amount of flaking involved. The Fluid Sheer seemed to work best when mixed with normal to matte liquid foundations.

The Giorgio Armani Fluid Sheers are currently priced at $59.00 USD on the Giorgio Armani website, and on all other websites: Neiman Marcus, Nordstrom, etc. they are listed at $60 for 1 fl. oz.

application techniques:
Apply with the blender brush to wear alone or mixed with foundation for a boost of radiance and color. Use on top of foundation for added highlighting and contouring.

9 FLUID SHEER GIORGIO ARMANI SPRING 2013 COLLECTION - SWATCHES and REVIEW

FLUID SHEER 9 is a bright berry pink color that has a lot of depth. It is easily sheered out or you can layer it for an intense punch of color. It does contain miniscule flecks of pink and silver sparkle - not chunky and not quite glitter or shimmer either. At first glance I didn't notice the sparkle but when the light reflects on it or when it is blended out, then the sparkle is more noticeable but just barely. It is important to note that with this color there is some slight staining of the skin. Especially if it sits on the skin and it isn't blended out rather quickly then there might be residual on the face and hands. It is also recommended to shake or mix the Fluid Sheer before each use so as to obtain the most optimum results.

I found the Fluid Sheer 9 to blend just as easily as those from the permanent line. When blending, the Fluid Sheers typically dry rather slowly - this allows for time to really blend it out. However, if a heavy application is applied to the skin then you may end up with some streaking. The pump feature on these is nice but it puts out way to much product for my needs. I prefer to open the bottle rather than use the pump so that way I can control the amount I use. I just dole out a small sample onto a metal makeup palette and then I dab my makeup brush into it.

Final thoughts:
I prefer to wear 9 as a blush; just like 11, Amber, from the permanent collection. I find I can get the most use from both of these Fluid Sheer shades by utilizing them this way. Overall though I really love the Fluid Sheers and I am happy and excited to add 9 to my growing collection.

The Fluid Sheers are currently priced at $59 USD on the Giorgio Armani website, and on all other websites: Neiman Marcus, Nordstrom, etc. they are listed at $60 for 1 fl. oz.
