234 POESIE CHANEL LES 4 OMBRES MULTI-EFFECT QUADRA EYESHADOW - SWATCHES AND REVIEW

234 Poesie is a new Chanel Les 4 Ombres Multi-Effect eyeshadow quad. In addition to the limited edition Poesie, Chanel released eight new quads reformulated without talc and with a longer lasting eyeshadow formula. Check out the link below to read about the entire collection. These new quads are extremely pigmented and typically last a total wear time of eight to ten hours. The quads currently retail for $61.00 USD and they contain .07 oz of product.

The Poesie quad is described as a mixture of brown, beige, pink, and burgundy colors. The top right shade is more of a warm golden beige, the top left shade is a medium brown, the bottom right shade is a dark brown with slight reddish plum undertones and the bottom left shade is a pale pink. This quad has excellent color payoff, lasted a wear time of twelve hours with no creasing and only required an eyeshadow base for a vibrant application. The more I have used these new quads I am finding that a good eyeshadow base can really bring out the vibrant color more so than using them wet.

Final thoughts - I had the opportunity to see and swatch all nine of the quads this past week. They are all gorgeous and offer an array of color combinations to choose from. Some of the newer quads look similar to the older quads which is true but the formula for these make them a must have (no more chalky formula!). They also look and swatch better in person so if you have the opportunity it is worth the trip to check them out.

96 UTOPIA CHANEL ILLUSION D'OMBRE EYESHADOW - SWATCHES AND REVIEW

96 Utopia is a limited edition Chanel Illusion D'Ombre long wear luminous eyeshadow from the 2014 Summer collection REFLETS D’ÉTÉ DE CHANEL. To read more about the entire collection check out the link below. Utopia is a shimmery light purple cream eyeshadow with silver sparkle. It doesn't apply as evenly as previous Chanel cream eyeshadows - it seemed drier and less pliable.
It tended to pill (or clump together) which made it harder to get an even all over application of Utopia. The wear time for Utopia is on par with the other Chanel Illusion D'Ombre cream eyeshadows. It lasted for about six to seven hours wear time before creasing. Also, be sure to always apply an eyeshadow primer underneath the cream eyeshadow and use thin applications when applying the cream eyeshadow onto the eyelid to lessen the chances of them creasing.

8 PRUNE TAFFETAS GIVENCHY OMBRE COUTURE CREAM EYESHADOW - SWATCHES AND REVIEW

Givenchy recently released 9 new Ombre Couture cream eyeshadows. These long lasting cream to powder eyeshadows boast a 16 hour wear time that can be worn as a base, eyeshadow or eyeliner. I purchased 3 of them: 3 Rose Dentelle (click the link below to see my review), 8 Prune Taffetas and 5 Taupe Velours (I'll post a review of it shortly). The Givenchy Ombre Couture cream eyeshadows are available at Sephora and are currently priced at $23.00 USD for .14 oz. of product.

08 Prune Taffetas is a gorgeous plum eyeshadow. It has a cream to powder finish that applies semi-sheer with buildable color. It is super easy to layer and apply and it lasts forever when worn! I wore it for about 14 hours on Saturday and it still looked fresh all day long. Almost like I had just applied the eyeshadow. I am so in love with this color!!! So far out of the three I have purchased 08 Prune Taffetas is my favorite. Although they all have superb quality and wear beautifully!

3 ROSE DENTELLE GIVENCHY OMBRE COUTURE CREAM EYESHADOW - SWATCHES AND REVIEW

Recently Givenchy released 9 new Ombre Couture cream eyeshadows. These long lasting cream to powder eyeshadows boast a 16 hour wear time that can be worn as a base or as an eyeshadow. I purchased 3 Rose Dentelle which is a muted pinkish brown. It is a gorgeous natural shade that will wear well on just about everyone. The texture is reminiscent of the MAC paint pots but the Givenchy cream eyeshadows have a denser consistency. They do apply rather sheer but buildable. So there is never a fear of overdoing it. Just keep in mind that it does dry rather quickly but one still has time to blend it out before it sets. I wore Rose Dentelle all day yesterday as an eyeshadow, about 17 hours (7am until about midnight) and I didn't experience any creasing but there was some slight fading after about 12 hours. Today I am wearing it as a base, 5 hours so far, and nothing has moved, creased or faded on my eyes. These "MUST HAVE" Givenchy Ombre Couture cream eyeshadows are available at Sephora and are currently priced at $23.00 USD for .14 oz. of product.

JARDIN ZEN CHANEL OMBRES TRACEES QUADRA EYESHADOW - SWATCHES AND REVIEW

JARDIN ZEN is a new Ombres Tracees eyeshadow quad that is part of the Chanel Jardin de Camelias collection. This Asia exclusive Spring collection will only be available on Chanel.com for those in the states. The eyeshadow quad houses four highly pigmented shades starting from the top right: a sparkle-y warm vanilla gold; top left: a rich violet with subtle hints of grey; bottom right: a smokey black; and bottom left: a pale shimmering pink. Each shade contains a fair amount of sparkle but it is the warm vanilla gold shade that contains the most glitter and it is the only shade that I experienced significant fall-out when I wore it. Wear time for the quad was about eight hours before I experienced any creasing and after about five hours the eyeshadows seemed to fade slightly as well.

The Jardin Zen quad can be worn from lightest to darkest shade. On the brow bone and inner corner use the warm vanilla gold. For the crease area the pale lavender grey will look lovely and for the middle part of the lid apply the pale shimmering pink. The outer lid corner (horizontal v shaped area) and to line the eyes use the smokey black shade. If you feel the smokey black in the outer corner is a bit more dramatic than what you would normally wear then just use it only as an eyeliner. With Chanel quads I don't apply anything beforehand to my eyelids except for a good eye base (I use NARS eye base). On occasion (when I don't get enough sleep which seems like all the time!) I do have to apply a neutral semi-matte vanilla eyeshadow (such as MAC Creamy Bisque which unfortunately was limited edition). This creates a neutral area for me to apply my eyeshadow because the skin on and around my eye area is so thin and all you can see are the blue-green veins. Also, keep in mind if the eyeshadows seem a tad too powdery try patting them on instead of brushing the eyeshadow onto your eyes. This should minimize fallout and lessen the chance of your eyeshadow looking muddy. Or if the eyeshadows seem a tad bit too tame then apply them wet for a bright bold look.

13 RADIANT PIGMENT GIORGIO ARMANI FLUID SHEER - SWATCHES AND REVIEW

The Giorgio Armani EFFETTO NUDO Spring 2014 collection consisted of three rouge d'armani sheer lipsticks, three flash lacquer glosses, three eyeliners, the Belladonna highlight palette, and a new Fluid Sheer in Radiant Pigment. Another item from this collection the Luminessence CC, a color control bright moisturizer sunscreen, will not be available until later this year in March.

I love the Giorgio Armani fluid sheers, I've purchased #8 (check it out here) and #9 (check it out here) and have had fantastic results and most recently I repurchased #2 and #7 (I will review both at a later time). So I was super excited when I heard the news about a new fluid sheer - #13 Radiant pigment. It is said to contain varying gold and rose kaleidoscope pearls that instantly warm up tired sallow skin. It acts as a filler and will magically smooth and freshen the skin leaving behind a luminous complexion.

This week I have been trying to incorporate the Radiant pigment into my beauty routine. I have worn it as a highlight color on my upper cheekbones, my brow bone and my cupids bow. I have tried mixing it with my foundation for an all-over glow and I have used it to contour different areas of my face. One thing I have noticed **Be sure to shake it before using to blend the formula! The formula is rather sheer and not as thick as the other fluid sheers. It doesn't have an odor or scent but in the bottle it had a slight plastic smell. When dispensed the Radiant pigment has a milky white look but blended it took on a sheer pale pink pearlescent sheen.

I found the Radiant pigment worked best when blended with other products rather than worn alone. The only exception was my brow bone and cupids bow - it gave both of those areas a subtle glowing sheen. Other areas, when worn alone, it just didn't blend in as easily. When worn over top of my foundation it left streaks and splotches. However when I wore the Radiant pigment mixed in with my foundation (it did lighten the foundation up just a bit) it seemed to melt right into my skin. It smoothed over my fine lines and left me with a dewy complexion. As a highlighter, I applied both the Radiant pigment along with my highlight powder together onto my upper cheekbones, it lent definition to my cheeks and seemed to accentuate my face with a subtle glow from within. The Radiant pigment fluid sheer has really exceeded my expectations. It took a little trial and error to see what worked best for me but it has been worth it. It is definitely a "Must Buy" and a "Holy Grail" product to add to your beauty collection.

83 ILLUSOIRE CHANEL ILLUSION D'OMBRE LONG WEAR LUMINOUS EYESHADOW - SWATCHES AND REVIEW

In the Fall of 2011 Chanel first launched the ILLUSION D'OMBRE long wear luminous eyeshadows. 83 ILLUSOIRE, one of the more popular shades, is described as a sparkly deep purple with hints of taupe mixed in. This "intensely shimmering long-wear eyeshadow offers true versatility." The cream-gel like texture of the eyeshadow feels soft but somewhat sponge-y; almost like a cushion. It can be worn as an eyeshadow base, or an eyeshadow or even as an eyeliner. The special brush included in the packaging allows for easy application no matter how you decide to wear it.
