CHANEL LE VERNIS NAIL COLOUR 565 BEIGE is exclusive to Chanel.com.
My first impressions of this nail polish were:
- The consistency was rather thin and runny.
- This might be hard to apply without streaks.
- The color is more of a milky beige with a pinkish opalescence.
- Seems cool toned due to the pinkish opalescent undertones.
- Will definitely need to layer the polish --> at a minimum apply 2-3 coats.
- Need to add a top coat to bring out the pink-tinged shine.
Chanel #565 Beige is one of those polishes that is going to require some work due to its thin and runny consistency. I had to apply at least 3 coats before I could attain opaque status and even then it still showed some streaks. Also, be sure to let each coat of polish dry before applying the next one or you will experience some gumming of the polish along the outer edges of your nails.
After I had applied the polish I noticed that the color seemed flat with little to no shine. The opalescence that I mentioned earlier wasn't as noticeable as it was in the bottle. So I applied a top coat to try and bring out some of the pinkish pearl-like sheen.
Overall the polish is a "Nice to Have" but its definitely not a "Must Have". There are plenty of cheaper alternatives out there that don't require near as much work as this polish so you might want to skip it. Also the price ($26 USD) might be a bit much for all the work you will have to put into it.
Although, it "IS" a really nice beige color with its subtle hints of pink undertones and it would make for the perfect Work-Safe nude polish as well. Basically I'm not much help because I'm still on the fence about this polish. I don't know whether I love it because of the color or if I hate it because of all the work that's involved. LOL
