MOODLIGHT TOM FORD SKIN ILLUMINATING POWDER DUO - NEW / FALL 2015

New for Fall is the Tom Ford Skin Illuminating powder duo Moodlight. The compact houses two shades: a lighter soft white shade and a warmer golden shade. The shades can be worn individually on the face or swirled together to create a multi-dimensional glow.

Unfortunately I don't have a local Tom Ford counter I can visit for swatches and to purchase products. Mainly I have to rely on the internet and the occasional rogue swatches that pop up on Instagram. So when Moodlight first came available online I pre-ordered it almost immediately. Even though I wasn't sure then if either of the shades would work for my really pale skin I knew if I waited too long it would probably sell out. As of today it is wait list only on the Tom Ford website and several department stores have it listed as unavailable on their websites. Moodlight will probably be the "Must Have" Fall item for 2015 so I would suggest calling your local Tom Ford counter to set one aside for you. Mine should arrive within the next few days so I will try to post swatches and a quick review for you all.

LE BLANC DE CHANEL MULTI-USE ILLUMINATING BASE WITH NEW PUMP APPLICATOR

JUST A WISP MAC MINERALIZE BLUSH - SWATCHES AND REVIEW

JUST A WISP is a new frosty pale pink mineralize blush. It was released about two months ago when MAC unveiled their newly repackaged mineralize blushes. There were two new shades released with the relaunch: New Romance and Just A Wisp and I purchased both shades (check out the link below for New Romance). The mineralized blushes currently retail for $27.00 USD and they contain .10 oz of product. Wear time for Just A Wisp was about eight hours with slight fading and significant fading after ten hours.

NEW ROMANCE MAC MINERALIZE BLUSH - SWATCHES AND REVIEW

MAC recently repackaged their mineralize blushes. The formula for these are similar to the previous versions and MAC has released two new shades: New Romance and Just A Wisp (I purchased both). It is important to note the texture of the newer versions of the MAC mineralize blushes seem to be a tad bit more powdery and the champagne shimmer seems a bit more intense.

New Romance is a warm shimmery mineralized peach blush that boasts a wear time of seven to eight hours before fading. It currently retails for $27.00 USD which is a significant price increase from the last time I purchased one of these (I think I paid either $22 or $25) and it contains .10 oz of product. Although, according to the box, the MAC website and the Nordstrom website they all list the mineralize blushes as having .11 oz of product. Overall these are nice to have for illuminating the face or for highlighting the cheek area but they are not unique enough to make them a "Must Have".

04 CRYSTAL BABY ESTEE LAUDER PURE COLOR ILLUMINATING POWDER GELEE - SWATCHES AND REVIEW

The latest "Must Have" product of the moment is the Estee Lauder Pure Color Illuminating Powder Gelée in Crystal Baby. It is a warm shimmery pale pink highlighter that is a powder, gel and liquid all in one. This long-lasting and unique "triblend powder" illuminates the skin with a silky finish. Crystal Baby currently retails for $40.00 USD and it contains .21 oz of product.

I first saw Crystal Baby on the Nordstrom website where it was described as a high-shine blush. Meh, I thought I would pass because I already have way too many illuminating / highlighting powders in my collection that don't get used nearly as much as they should. Then I saw swatches from Danielle on her blog Bloomin Beauty Blog and she convinced me that I needed this. Thank you for your recommendation because that girl knows what she is talking about. This gorgeous highlight powder wears beautifully and didn't enhance the pores or any imperfections. Wear time was a solid eight hours which is perfect for a highlighter and by that time it didn't look brassy or overly shiny. It was just a nice soft warm glow to the face. I tell ya what, I am seriously impressed!
