TOM FORD COMPLEXION ENHANCING PRIMER - NEW / FALL 2015

New for Fall 2015 is the Tom Ford Complexion Enhancing Primer. It is both a skincare and makeup primer which hydrates and brightens the skin, reverses signs of aging, dullness and tiredness all the while minimizing pores. Sounds promising!

There are two primer shades: 01 Pink Glow and 02 Peach Glow. Both shades are said to complement a wide range of skin tones and the primer can be worn alone or under foundation. I purchased the Pink Glow primer and I have been wearing it under my foundation for the past few days. I'll post a review once I finish testing it out. So far though I'm really loving it. My skin doesn't look as dry and there is a slight "glow-y" almost dewy look to my face.

I recently purchased this Guerlain palette and I'm in the process of reviewing it so a blog post should be up shortly. DOLLY'S HIGH ROLLER COLLECTION

I saw this palette in the store on Friday and the Dolly blush (last blush on the left) and the Dolly double-ended lip products are what make this bulky palette worth the $45. The eyeshadows are nice but not as pigmented as I had hoped but the bronzer and luminizer have excellent color payoff. Plus the waterproof eyeliner is incredible.

GIVENCHY PALETTE EXTRAVAGANZA LIP AND EYE

This is a gorgeous palette with four shimmer eyeshadows and a lipstick. Normally I shy away from eye and lip palette combos but this set is absolutely gorgeous and worth the splurge of $66 USD.

GIVENCHY PRISME LIBRE LOOSE POWDERS

There are four loose powder color combinations to choose from and each retails for $53 USD. This may seem like a hefty price tag but each contains .42 oz of product. I've already bought one of the Givenchy Prisme Libre loose powders and I love it. So I'm definitely gonna buy a back up and maybe one or two other colors that are available.

Make Up For Ever is a phenomenal brand and all of their products are worth the hefty price tag. This is a makeup artist’s set for creating backstage looks and glamorous holiday style with 30 iconic bestsellers for eyes, lips, and the complexion. Even though it is expensive, it retails for $300, I would definitely splurge on this. It would be number one on my splurge list.

GLAMGLOW BRIGHTMUD EYE TREATMENT

When I attended one of the Sephora Beauty classes we used a sample of this eye treatment and it was AMAZING! It got rid of my under eye puffiness, it made my fine lines under my eyes less noticeable and it moisturized the scale-y look near the inner corners of my eyes. So this is definitely a "LOVE" for me and I have this item on my "Must Have" list but at $69 USD it is definitely gonna be a splurge for me!

MAKE UP FOR EVER ARTISAN BRUSH KIT

The Make Up For Ever brushes are amazing! I currently use the large foundation brush and it doesn't shed and it applies my foundation without streaking. It is such a wonderful investment. As such, this whole brush kit is really worth the $210 USD price tag. For good quality brushes these are the best. Definitely worth the splurge!

MARC JACOBS THE BRONZE - BRONZER BRUSH

I currently own a Marc Jacobs makeup brush and it works wonderfully. I just don't know that I would fork over $78 USD for a big fluffy powder brush. I know it says it is to be used for applying bronzer but come on. A brush this big is really best used for loose powder application that is why it made my "Splurge" list, LOL.

This year the cost will be $44.95 for the Summer Beauty Box. The cost does not include shipping and handling charges which do apply and they are about $10.00 USD plus sales tax (depending on your state).

IMPORTANT INFORMATION:

1. The link to purchase the Allure Beauty Box when it becomes active will be an image similar to the pic at the top of this post. You must click on the image and it will take you to the order form. If you encounter another image asking if you want to make a purchase then click on the image again. This order process varies from time to time depending on how Allure sets up the website / web page. With previous sales Allure allowed you to log in to the AllureAccess.com website and then proceed from there. However this year it looks like they will just update the site with the image when it is time for the sale to start. Personally I have always been able to access it just fine but then again I use Firefox as my web browser.

I'll be sure to update this post with the link should it change once it has become active. The link for the beauty boxes will be active until all quantities have been sold. So when the sale first starts you may experience some slow down with the web page but it quickly passes. However, if the link quits working or fails to load then you know the beauty boxes are probably sold out. In the past it has taken 24-48 hours to sell out but the Summer Beauty Box took less than 10 minute and the Fall Beauty Box sold out in less than five so you might want to jump on this ASAP.

MISTER ERASER GIVENCHY IMPERFECTION CORRECTING PEN - SWATCHES AND REVIEW

GIVENCHY MIRACLE MAN MAKES FOR PERFECT SKIN POSSIBLE

The Mister Eraser Imperfection correcting pen is part of the OVER ROSE 2014 Spring-Summer collection. The transparent silicone based chubby pen fills and smooths over skin imperfections and it matifies oily / greasy areas. The Mister Eraser feels similar to the Smashbox Iconic Photo Finish Foundation Primer after it has been applied. In other words it has a transparent appearance with a matte finish and leaves the skin feeling silky smooth and soft. When I wore the Mister Eraser it did fill in minor imperfections but I still needed a concealer for under my eyes to cover the blue/green veining in that area. So I mainly applied the Mister Eraser to the outer edges of my eyes to fill in the minor crow's feet or laugh lines and then along the outer edges of my lips as well. 

The Mister Eraser is a nice product to splurge on. Especially if you have fine lines or really oily skin then this product should work for you. Now it does require touch ups throughout the day but with this handy chubby pen it should be fairly easy and not take up much room in your makeup bag. Overall I loved how it brought those areas, the corners of my eyes and around my lips, to life. It seemed to really decrease the tiredness from my face and it minimized my fine lines leaving behind a smooth and slightly more youthful appearance.

RADICAL SKINCARE INSTANT REVITALIZING MASK - SWATCHES AND REVIEW

Several weeks ago I was given the opportunity to review the Radical Skincare Instant Revitalizing mask. Lately my skin has been less than glowing - it has the look and feel of tired overworked skin so when this opportunity came along I was really hopeful that it would perk up my skin and brighten my complexion. Also, since December, I have been working 10-12 hour days Monday through Friday and then on the weekends it is non-stop running errands for my family so skincare and my overall health have taken a backseat and my appearance reflects this neglect. 

For the past four weeks I have been using the mask twice a week. Here are my thoughts / my review of that experience:

The Radical Skincare Instant revitalizing mask has a citrus-y scent somewhat similar to oranges but it actually smells kind of nice. When using the mask a thin layer must be applied to a clean and dry face. (Be sure not to get it near or around the eye area!) The directions say to let the mask activate for about 3-5 minutes and then rinse the mask off the face. Since I wasn't sure how my face would react if I left the mask on longer than the allotted time, I set my timer for about four minutes. Right away I noticed some areas on my face where the mask started turning white and then a bubbling sensation ensued. Nothing painful or damaging - just a bit of a shock and it does kind of tickle. It sort of reminded me when you pour hydrogen peroxide on a cut to cleanse it and then it starts to do that bubble effect - its very similar to that. With other areas of my face the mask actually seemed to disappear right away into my skin. Once the oxygen bubbles finished popping, those areas where the mask turned white, now seemed to disappear into the skin as well. After the allotted time had past I splashed water on my face and gently massaged the mask away. (It is important to note when one is removing any type of face product it is always best to be gentle and not tug, pull or rub the skin.) Then I used a hand towel to gently pat my face dry.

Right away I noticed / experienced a tightening of my skin, my pores seemed less noticeable and my skin was brighter with a healthy glow. Now as I have said in previous blog posts, I have extremely dry sensitive skin and trying to find skincare products that work and not dry out my skin even more is not an easy task. Since using the Radical Skincare mask for the past four weeks the results are amazing - my skin feels smoother, my face has a brightness to the skin and it is less dull looking. It definitely feels healthier and younger looking. Yes, I still have dry sensitive skin but it seems more hydrated so I'm definitely pleased with the results and I am going to be adding the mask to my weekly beauty / skincare routine from now on.
