AUDACITY IN PARIS LANCOME EYESHADOW PALETTE - SWATCHES AND REVIEW

I swatched the eyeshadows from left to right and then followed next was the bottom row which was swatched from left to right as well.

Also, as I mentioned in a previous post I just happened across the Auda[City] Lancome eyeshadow palette quite by accident. I was placing an online order for something else on the Lancome website when I saw a pic of this palette. I was like, "that is a really nice palette" and once I read it was "designed by Lisa Eldridge", I was like "sold - THAT PALETTE WILL BE MINE"! I know, I know, this year has been THE YEAR of the palettes! YSL, Urban Decay, Dior just to name a few, all have released rather large palettes. So the question I keep getting is - Do I really NEED this palette? YES!!! Yes, you really do NEED this palette.

I LOVE all the colors included in this palette. It's as if someone read my mind and built this palette based on all of my favorite eyeshadow colors. The most perfect combination of light and dark shadows which will allow me to create the perfect daytime or nighttime look. With this palette there's no need to haul around several different palettes. OMG, I LOVE IT!

The shadows in the palette are extremely pigmented and blend so easily. They are soft to the touch but not so soft that they will crease, crumble or have any crazy fallout. In that respect they have a kind of dry texture. When you first use the shadows all you really need to do is lightly tap, tap, tap your eyeshadow brush into the shadow to pick up a good bit of product. Then you will lightly tap, tap, tap the eyeshadow onto your lid or crease. These are super pigmented eyeshadows so it doesn't take much to really overdo it. I know I did the first time I tried using the palette and ended up with a muddled mess on my eyes. So I started over and below is a natural look I created. 

Now, typically I don't use eyeshadows to line my eyes but I thought I would give it a go. It was actually easier than I thought it would be especially when using any of the last four shades on the right of the palette. Those lined my eyes beautifully and were the perfect colors to line the eyes. Although I did go back in and use a touch of the purple eyeshadow to line the top middle of my lids. Just to add a bit of drama and to make my green eyes "POP" a bit more.

Now if I had to dislike or gripe about anything with this palette it would be the dual-end makeup brush that is included. I wasn't able to use it because it was rough and scratchy to my eyes. Clearly it wasn't the best quality although everything else was perfection!

I recently placed an online order on the Lancome website when I saw this amazing palette. It is designed by Lisa Eldridge! YES....THE FREAKIN AMAZING, I LOVE TO WATCH HER VIDEOS, MAKEUP ARTIST TO THE STARS, AN AMAZING INSPIRATION...THE Lisa Eldridge. This woman knows makeup and she is an artist! OMG, that alone makes this a "MUST HAVE" palette. Okay, okay...I know, enough singing her praises!

This gorgeous palette features sixteen shades (I'll list them all below) and a dual-ended eyeshadow brush. I ordered mine from the Lancome website and it should arrive within the next few days. SOMETHING ABOUT BERRY TOO FACED SWEETHEARTS PERFECT FLUSH BLUSH - SWATCHES AND REVIEW

I had previously purchased the Too Face baked blush in Candy Glow (see the link below to check out my review) and decided to purchase Something About Berry. What can I say, I'm a sucker for pink blushes especially berry colored ones. Something About Berry is a tri-colored shimmer-fest of berry pinks (shimmering mauve pink/ golden peach/ shimmering magenta pink). Although if you peel up the label it says this blush is called Passion Pink??? Hm, I'm sensing a cover up! LOL

The Too Faced blushes are so cute and the packaging, they come in a heart-shaped box, is so adorable! The wear time for this super pigmented blush, Something About Berry, was eight hours before I noticed minor fading. The color still looked bright and intense but was somewhat muted. The Too Faced Sweethearts blushes currently retail for $30.00 USD and contain .19 oz of product. They can be purchased in store or online at Sephora and Ulta.

CANDY GLOW TOO FACED SWEETHEARTS PERFECT FLUSH BLUSH - SWATCHES AND REVIEW

I purchased the Too Faced Sweethearts baked blush in Candy Glow during the Sephora 15% off period. Candy Glow was one of those blushes that I kept looking at online and adding it to my cart but I would never purchase it. I think I was hesitant because it looked so bright in pics and I had heard it was a sparkle-mess. While it does contain its fair share of sparkle I am happy to say it is more a shimmery glow when applied to the face which is quite nice.

Candy Glow is a heart shaped tricolored blush with shades of peaches and pinks (rose pink shimmer / soft coral pink / peachy pink shimmer). The three shades can be used together or separately to create a flush on your cheeks or to highlight the face. Candy Glow is quite pigmented with build-able color that applies easily with a wear time of about six hours. It is quite powdery so it will show up best when it is used over top of your foundation. The Too Faced Sweethearts blush currently retails for $30.00 USD and it contains .19 oz of product. It can be purchased in store or online at Sephora and Ulta.

LOLLITINT BENEFIT COSMETICS LIP AND CHEEK STAIN - SWATCHES AND REVIEW

The Pantone 2014 color of the year is Radiant Orchid and Benefit Cosmetics newest smudge-proof lip and cheek stain, Lollitint, has nailed it. It's a beautiful bright candy orchid tint that can be applied to the cheeks or the lips for a flush of pink. The color in the bottle may seem extreme but when applied it blends into a nice pink color. Nothing over the top but of course if you prefer a more bolder look with a stronger intensity then reapplying will definitely amp up the color.

The first time I applied Lollitint to my cheeks I used the brush applicator but I felt like I had less control when applying and it deposited way to much product. The next time I wore the tint I tried using my fingers but it didn't blend as seamless as what it should - it looked rather splotchy. What I finally found to work the best was the MAC 188 duo fiber brush; especially for small application areas. For larger application areas the larger MAC 189 duo fiber brush worked beautifully. Both allowed me to deposit small amounts of product and then blend it in without any streaking, smearing or splotchy-ness. Wear time for the tint on my cheeks and face was 10 hours with little to no fading. By the 12 hour mark there was some slight fading but the flush of pink was still very apparent.

For my lips I used my fingertips to pat and blot the tint on rather than the brush applicator or a lip brush. When I used either of them the tint seemed to settle into my lips and it didn't apply as evenly. Once the tint dried down somewhat then I applied a clear gloss over it for a bit of shine. Wear time as a lip tint was about four hours although I did reapply the gloss which seemed to revitalize the lip tint and then I was able to extend the wear time by an additional two hours.

Lollitint currently retails for $30.00 USD and it contains .42 oz of product.

ULTA and CVS DRUGSTORE HAUL / SHOPPING SPREE

This is a quick post of some items that I picked up from Ulta and CVS. Nothing too exciting but I did find a few gems.

Normally I'm not a fan of nail stickers but these were to pretty to pass up. The Artsy Muse nail stickers are part of L'Oreal's Project Runway collection which is limited edition. The Colour Riche Nail Lingerie is part of L'Oreal's Diamond Collection which is limited edition as well. I believe I paid around $7.99 or $8.99 for each of them.

L'Oreal Color Riche Balms come in a wide range of colors. I have several of these already and I really like using them. The only drawback with them is they don't moisturize as well as I would like them too. Otherwise they give a nice wash of color to the lips. These currently retail for $5.99 up to $9.99.

The L'Oreal infallible eye shadows come in a wide variety of colors. These amazing eye shadows last a good solid 8-12 hours wear time. According to the Ulta website "they have a formulation that lies between the comfort of a cream and the ease of application of a powder, infallible eyeshadow melts gently from the fingertips to the eye lid on application". I currently only have Iced Latte and it is so beautiful and very versatile. I use it as an all-over wash of color but it can be applied to the lid or brow as well. I was so impressed with them that I had to buy more. These eyeshadows are available wherever L'Oreal products are sold and they currently retail from $7.99 to $10.00.

Maybelline EyeStudio in #100 Cozy Cashmere is a limited edition eye shadow palette. It is part of Maybelline's Fall 2012 collection and is extremely popular among the beauty community. It houses a nice set of colors and it is quite nice but personally, I don't think its worth all the hype especially for almost $15.

Maybelline ColorSensational high shine lip gloss in Glisten Up Pink is a carnation pink colored lipgloss. The applicator has a doe-foot which allows for an easy and effortless application. These are relatively new glosses that were first available I believe in September of this year. So far I'm really liking the glosses although the formula is a little bit too thick.

The last two items that I picked up were these two mascaras. I currently use and love Lancome Hypnose Drama mascara which is amazing but also kinda expensive too. Hence the reason why I purchased these two mascaras. I'm trying to find a cheaper alternative so I thought I would try them out.
