583 TABOO CHANEL LE VERNIS NAIL COLOUR - SWATCHES AND REVIEW
Earlier this year (I believe around March) CHANEL released 583 TABOO nail polish with the collection Revelation. You can read more about the entire collection here. This polish is a deep metallic purple with plummy red (almost wine colored) iridescent tones. It does contain miniscule flecks of silver, blue and purple glitter that give this polish an added glow depending on the lighting. When I applied one coat of polish I noticed minor chipping at the nail tips by the next day. When I applied two coats I was able to wear the polish for at least three days before experiencing any chipping at all.
Taboo currently retails for $27.00 USD and it contains .4 oz of product.
**I was in a rush when I painted my nails so please forgive the imperfections in regards to my paint job, LOL.

COLOR CLUB 971 PORT-FOLIO NAIL POLISH
Happy 1st day of SUMMER!!! and Happy Friday too! This week I have been rocking the COLOR CLUB nailpolish in 971 PORT-FOLIO. It is a purple and green duochrome nail polish with fantastic staying power. I painted my nails at the beginning of the week, on Sunday, and didn't take pics until late last night (Thursday).
Now how's that for long lasting, LOL.
Any big plans for the weekend?
Me: The upcoming weeks are going to be super busy for me! I am getting ready for the upcoming July 4th celebrations. Here in Charlotte they have all kinds of festivities and events going on so there is a lot to do and see. Also, I want to take advantage of some of the pre-July 4th sales too! If you like to grill out (or barbeque as some call it) then this is the time to hit the stores and start stocking up on the chicken, hamburger and hotdogs. Just about every Supermarket is offering insane deals on their meat products. Don't forget about the chips, slaw, chili and potato salad too!
Enough food stuff! I'm making myself hungry, Ha Ha!
Well, with the month of July approaching, we should start seeing some of the Fall makeup collections hitting counters even though some beauty companies are still releasing their Summer collections. As of yesterday, nothing has been posted on Chanel's website about the Fall products and my contact at my local Chanel counter hasn't received any information yet either. However, I do know that Nordstrom has already released the new LE BLUSH CREME DE CHANEL collection (read more here) which is from Chanel's Fall COLLECTION SUPERSTITION and they have also released the nailpolishes from this same collection as well. So hopefully in the next week or two I should have more updated information for you.
Anyway, I hope you have an AWESOME weekend and stay safe!

NOTD - RESCUE BEAUTY LOUNGE AQUA LILY
For my monthly nail polish review I wanted to try something different. So for the month of February I decided to feature the Rescue Beauty Lounge line of nail polishes. I had read great things from fellow beauty and nailpolish bloggers about this brand so I was really excited to see if it would work for me.
THE REVIEW
The nail polish color I decided to review was AQUA LILY. (Please note: This polish was a gift from a dear friend for my birthday).
The brush applicator:
The brush applicator seemed a little small but it didn't hinder the application process.
The color:
From what I had seen and heard, this is the holy grail of all nail polishes. Supposedly it is one of the most coveted and hardest to find. I'm thinking it might have something to do with the intense aqua turquoise color with pink shimmers threaded throughout which makes it an extremely unique color to have.
The texture / formula:
The texture of the polish was slightly watery but due to the intense formula, the polish was almost opaque with only one application. To even out the application I did apply two coats. I noticed afterwards that this lessened the pink shimmer somewhat but it was still slightly visible.
Cost / Size:
The cost for this polish was $20.00 USD for .4 fl. oz. and can be purchased from the RESCUE BEAUTY LOUNGE website here.
Final Thoughts:
Overall I really loved this polish. It had a nice formula and the application process was extremely easy. I would definitely buy more polishes from this brand. The only negatives I found were the availability of the nail polishes and the selection of colors. The more popular shades / colors were almost always sold out. Unless you trolled eBay for them and you didn't mind paying double or triple the price in which case there were plenty. The remaining selection of available colors were, I think I counted 40 or 41 of them, mostly nudes and pale pinks, several dark polishes, and only a hand-full of colorful polishes.
If you decide to make a purchase from their website then make it count. Shipping is a flat rate of $5.50 USD unless you spend over $100 and then its free. For every $20 you spend you earn 1 point and points expire after one year. I'm still not sure the purpose of the points system as this wasn't explained very well. Also, the rest of the website is a little hard to navigate so plan on spending some time getting acclimated to it.

NOTD - ORLY ANDROGYNIE NAIL POLISH
ORLY ANDROGYNIE nail lacquer was part of the Orly Winter 2011 Holiday Soiree collection. It is a midnight black polish with multicolored flecks of glitter and shimmer in blues, greens, oranges, yellows, etc. When applying the polish it is best to first apply a black base and then the polish. Although it isn't necessary it does help to enhance the overall glitter / shimmer effect. I had read online somewhere that if you store the glitter / shimmer polishes upside down then you can get more of the glitter / shimmer on your nails. I might try that in the future but for this post I made sure to really swirl the applicator brush in the polish and I had no problem getting lots of glitter and shimmer onto my nails.
The quality of this brand is amazing! On average, I typically get a good week's worth of wear time with minimal chipping or peeling. By week two there is some minor chipping at the tips but overall the polish still looks great. You can find Orly polishes at most salons but visit Orly.com for a complete listing to find the location closest to you. I found this polish discounted at my local Sally Beauty Supply store. I paid $3.99 USD for .6 fl oz. It currently retails from around $5.99 - $9.99 on e-bay although you might get lucky, like I did, and find it discounted at your local Sally store.

| Color Show Nail Lacquer Bolder, crisper color that just won’t quit |
I had been wanting to try the new Maybelline Color Show nail lacquers since seeing an ad for them in my Allure magazine. The range of colors were so bright and colorful. I decided to pick up a few colors and #370 Shocking Seas is one of the polishes that I purchased. It is a solid cream polish with a color mixture of turquoise blue (but with less green) and a sky blue color. It has a smooth application with two coats giving opaque coverage. However, the brush is rather narrow but it doesn't hinder the application process.
The Maybelline Color Show nail lacquers are currently priced at $3.99 ea for .23 fl oz. and can be found at any local drugstore or discount store. I purchased three more Color Show nail lacquers and I will post a review of those in the coming weeks. So check back for those updates.

NOTD: LAURA MERCIER FLAMINGO NAIL LACQUER
Laura Mercier Nail Lacquer creates beautifully manicured nails with long-lasting, chip-resistant, protective color and high shine. The ultra-smooth pigment enhances any nails and a fast-drying element expedites the drying process.
LAURA MERCIER NAIL LACQUER in FLAMINGO is a beautiful creamy bright pink color with no shimmer that was first available in the Spring Tres Chic 2012 collection. To my knowledge, I believe this color is no longer available which is a shame. It is such a beautiful shade of pink that even though its considered a bright pink it can still be work appropriate. It is that versatile. Also this polish is very pigmented and is extremely long lasting. I can get about a week to two weeks normal wear time with no chipping.
When I first saw Flamingo it reminded me of the main character from the Legally Blonde movies, Elle Woods. Her signature color was pink and just about everything she wore was pink. If you haven't seen the movies then you really need to watch them. They are so funny and kinda corny but I love them! Anyway, this color is exactly what I would expect her to wear. I think it can best be described as a "Barbie Pink".
Laura Mercier nailpolishes currently retail at $18.00 for .35 oz.
Limited Edition. The ultra-smooth formula provides chip-resistant, fast-drying and long-lasting color. Nail Lacquer does not contain formaldehyde, toluene, or dibutyl phthalate (DBP).
