The Chanel Spring collection typically arrives at department store counters right at Christmas. So it always makes for a great last minute gift especially if the shades are complimentary to your skin tone. 002 MY LADY DIOR CANNAGE EDITION PALETTE BLUSH - SWATCHES AND REVIEW

The My Lady blush in 002 is embossed with Dior's iconic Cannage pattern and is housed in a hefty silver compact. This compact definitely has some weight to it and features a magnetic closure with a portable kabuki brush included alongside the compact. The blush itself is exclusive to Saks and is described as a "feel-good pink harmony" that is supposed to catch the light "proclaiming the radiance of the face". It does have a slight perfume-y scent that isn't overwhelming but quite subtle and understated. To be totally honest, this blush was very powdery and didn't have much pigmentation. It showed up as a very light pink shimmer blush with a few sparkles and not much else. For $60 I was beyond upset because I expected more; I mean $60 dollars worth of AWESOME is what I wanted. When swatched separately each of the shades has somewhat acceptable pigmentation but trying to get a blended combination of them all doesn't really offer up much color. In my opinion this works better as a all-over highlight more so than a blush so if you don't mind the cost then go for it. For others on a budget, skip this - cause there are better products at cheaper price points.

589 ELIXIR CHANEL LE VERNIS NAIL COLOUR - SWATCHES AND REVIEW

CHANEL 589 ELIXIR is one of those polishes that is nice to have in your collection. It is from the CHANEL FALL SUPERSTITION collection (read more about the entire collection here). This creamy pink polish is opaque with one coat. The formula didn't leave streaks and the application was smooth and applied evenly. The wear time with this polish was just under three days before I saw minor chipping at the nail tips. Even though the wear time wasn't as great as what I have experienced with other Chanel polishes it was better than most.

I purchased this polish a few weeks ago from the Nordstrom.com website but it is now available at all major department stores. However, as of this posting, it still isn't available on Chanel.com just yet. It currently retails for $27.00 USD for .4 fl. oz of product.

66 FANTASTIC LE BLUSH CREME DE CHANEL

66 FANTASTIC - burgundy (limited edition)

I was able to purchase 66 FANTASTIC from Nordstrom.com. This new limited edition creme blush is one of the six new LE BLUSH CREME DE CHANEL from the Chanel Fall Superstition collection. The remaining five are to become part of Chanel's permanent line of blushes. Besides Fantastic, I also wanted to purchase 65 AFFINITE but it's no longer on the Nordstrom website. Hopefully I'll be able to purchase it on the Chanel website or from my local counter. For now though, I am extremely happy with Fantastic.

66 FANTASTIC is described as a burgundy colored blush but it seemed more like a bright raspberry pink (check out the swatches below). This creme blush goes on smooth and was extremely easy to blend out on my cheeks (see the last two pics below). It has a smooth feel and finish and I didn't notice any waxy or greasy residue. The blush is extremely pigmented so I only applied a light application and the color was still amazing. Since I applied such a light application I used my ring finger to blend out the blush instead of a makeup brush. Although one can be used, I preferred to use my hand and the warmth to help blend in the blush. The lasting power for the blush is dependent on how heavily it is applied. The blush soaks into the skin but if a heavy application is used then there is a chance for smudging or smearing. Overall the results from this creme blush are amazing. I am definitely going to purchase more.
