ULTA and CVS DRUGSTORE HAUL / SHOPPING SPREE

This is a quick post of some items that I picked up from Ulta and CVS. Nothing too exciting but I did find a few gems.

Normally I'm not a fan of nail stickers but these were to pretty to pass up. The Artsy Muse nail stickers are part of L'Oreal's Project Runway collection which is limited edition. The Colour Riche Nail Lingerie is part of L'Oreal's Diamond Collection which is limited edition as well. I believe I paid around $7.99 or $8.99 for each of them.

L'Oreal Color Riche Balms come in a wide range of colors. I have several of these already and I really like using them. The only drawback with them is they don't moisturize as well as I would like them too. Otherwise they give a nice wash of color to the lips. These currently retail for $5.99 up to $9.99.

The L'Oreal infallible eye shadows come in a wide variety of colors. These amazing eye shadows last a good solid 8-12 hours wear time. According to the Ulta website "they have a formulation that lies between the comfort of a cream and the ease of application of a powder, infallible eyeshadow melts gently from the fingertips to the eye lid on application". I currently only have Iced Latte and it is so beautiful and very versatile. I use it as an all-over wash of color but it can be applied to the lid or brow as well. I was so impressed with them that I had to buy more. These eyeshadows are available wherever L'Oreal products are sold and they currently retail from $7.99 to $10.00.

Maybelline EyeStudio in #100 Cozy Cashmere is a limited edition eye shadow palette. It is part of Maybelline's Fall 2012 collection and is extremely popular among the beauty community. It houses a nice set of colors and it is quite nice but personally, I don't think its worth all the hype especially for almost $15.

Maybelline ColorSensational high shine lip gloss in Glisten Up Pink is a carnation pink colored lipgloss. The applicator has a doe-foot which allows for an easy and effortless application. These are relatively new glosses that were first available I believe in September of this year. So far I'm really liking the glosses although the formula is a little bit too thick.

The last two items that I picked up were these two mascaras. I currently use and love Lancome Hypnose Drama mascara which is amazing but also kinda expensive too. Hence the reason why I purchased these two mascaras. I'm trying to find a cheaper alternative so I thought I would try them out.

There are three liquid eyeliners: 10 Noir - which is permanent, 30 Purple - which is permanent, and 20 Palatine - which is limited edition.

I came across the display when I visited the Chanel counter at my local Belk department store. The Sales Associate, Adrienne, was kind enough to let me photograph and swatch the different products from the collection. At this time they are only taking pre-sales for the products and they will not be available for actual purchase to take home until the beginning of Thanksgiving week.

My initial thoughts about the eyeliners: they go on really smoothly, seem to have great staying power, and have a nice tip to the end of the applicator. The only issue I could see would be the applicator itself. It was more like a flimsy brush at the end of the applicator which might be an issue for those less experienced when applying liquid eyeliners.

My recommendations: If you regularly wear liquid eyeliner then I would opt for Palatine for sure. It's a limited edition eye product and with Christmas / Holiday parties coming up, it will most likely sell out rather quickly. Noir and Purple are both dupe-able and can be skipped. Unless you are a die-hard collector and just want them for your collection but they are permanent so there's no need to rush out to purchase them.
